Pretty in Pink

Today's card is for a work colleague who's birthday is soon. She absolutely loves the colour pink and cup cakes and I was so happy I could combined the two together for this card.

The digi image is Tumble Tizzy from a CDROM and is coloured in with pro-markers. I layered the cupcake cake holder and swirl on Tizzy's head to give it a 3D finish but this doesn't show up on the card.  I used glossy highlights on the cherry and Tizzy's nose.

The papers are from the Sweet Owl paper pack which was on half price at The Range last weekend.

I am entering this card into the Dilly Beans - Anything Goes challenge.

Black & White

Two cards to show this week.  The first is a Birthday card for a friend - she loves Scottie dogs and she has a white one so I wanted to do a card with one. I went for the black and white theme because these are her favourite colours but I added a few red flowers to give it a little colour and to try and make it more feminine.

The Scottie dog is a Cameo file and the black lattice is my first attempt at making a lattice pattern on the Cameo. The flowers were cut using the Sizziz Flowers 3D die.

I would like to enter this card into Challenges 4 Everybody challenge #7 - Anything goes

My second card is for a friend who has just moved house and I got my inspiration from a gorgeous card listed on Docrafts by Candy and I would like to thank her very much for giving me permission to use her design. If you would like see Candy's beautiful card here is the link: Candy's Design

For my version of the card I used a Cameo image of a chandelier and attached small gems. I used the tied together embossing folder for the background and highlighted it using liquid pearls. The bow is also a Cameo image because I am absolutely hopeless at tying bows with ribbon. Here is the card:

Handbag Cards & Another Little Penguin

I have seen so many gorgeous hand bag cards I decided to have a go myself. It's a friends birthday in a couple of weeks and she is mad about handbags so thought it would make the perfect card. I enjoyed making it so much I could not resist making a few more:

I used Laura Ashley papers for this one with Candi buttons for the handles and flowers. The little dots or sticker waste left over from strips of circles - I just knew it would come in handy one day!

Here is another:

The papers for this one are from a Boofle 12x12 pack (bought from The Range).

The third one:

Again the paper is from the Boofle stack. This time I have used Liquid Pearls on the flowers and to highlight.

Last card for now is a Christmas card using the a lovely little penguin image again - I adore this little chap:

I used Spray & Sparkle (silver) for the first time to make the snowflakes so inevitably I ended up with more on me than anywhere else. Love the finish of them (although you cannot really see it on this photo). The snowflake centres are Candi buttons

Whole afternoon for card making

I have had a really stressful week at work so just relaxing this afternoon. A little shopping this morning for a few bits and pieces. My Mum always used to buy my Dad an Eric the Penguin calender so I have bought him one for the last few years, it may not sound much but it means a lot to him and it makes him smile and that's all that matters to me.

Hubby is watching the footie on tv (well he is probably napping now) so hopefully I will have a few hours peace and quiet.

Anyway, I got fed up of making Christmas cards so decided to make a start on a Mother's Day card. Kept it really simple, used the Cameo to cut the word MUM out of white card stock then embossed the card using the Tied Together folder. Layered this with paper from my stash, added Liquid Pearls to highlight the centres and added a flower and flourish using the same backing paper. For a first attempt I am quite happy and I am going to try the same technique for a Fathers Day card.  Would love to hear what you think:
