Christmas Card Countdown

Thought I had better make a start on my Christmas cards as I make quite a few for a local charity so I decided to make use of a kit from Crafworks. Everything on these two cards was from the goodybox sent out last month.

I am disappointed with Craftworks customer service at the moment though. Last months goodie box didn't arrive and I had to email them and now this months box hasn't arrived either and my emails are going unanswered. It's a shame because I have liked everything I have received from them so far but the poor service means I will not be buying from them again.

Here are the cards I have made with last months kit so far:

And card number 2 (the baubles on the tree are little snowballs that were not part of the kit):

I am not 100% sold on the pastel colours but they are part of the stash that will go to the charity so I am sure someone will love them.

That's MISTER old fart to you!

Another weekend is here already, time is flying and I really do need to make a start on my Christmas cards. The good news is that I found a dress and I actually like it which is amazing for me and it was only the 17th one I tried on....

Anyway, this is a male Birthday card and I absolutely love this digital image which goes so well with the slogan. I had already coloured in the image with Promarkers so had to build the backing paper colours up around the image which I didn't find very easy. Usually I put the backing papers together first and then colour the image to match.

Apart from that I just kept the design very simple.

Hope you all have a productive crafty weekend x

Autumn & a Birthday Card

There is definitely a chill in the air now so I think it's safe to say we have seen the last of the warm weather for this year. Not be long before I convince my hubby that the heating needs to be switched back on.

The silver lining is that it's also footie season so I get Saturday afternoons all to myself (does a little happy dance). Hope everyone is having a great weekend too.

I have to go dress shopping Monday night and I am really not looking forward to it. The last dress (or even skirt for that matter) I wore was my wedding dress 17 years ago so two friends are coming along to help me. I feel really sorry for what I am going to be putting them through but they seem confident we will find something for me so who am I to burst their bubble. Perhaps I should have put 'buying a dress' on my bucket list!!!

Anyway, this is a birthday card for one of those friends. I really liked the stepper card I made last weekend and thought I would give it another go.

I used brown card as the base and the backing paper was from the Silent Night paper pad. The flowers and butterflies were cut from the Blank Canvas paper pad. The Happy Birthday was done on the Silhouette using the new metallic pens (copper). Liquid pearls (copper) have been added to the corners and Candi to the flowers.

Hope you like this card and thank you for looking x

Autumn Card for Papermill DT Call

Having a quick look at Facebook yesterday morning I noticed a post from Papermill who are looking for a new DT member. To enter all you need to do is make something with an Autumn theme and here is the link if you want to have a go: Papermill Design Team Call

Well, they certainly started something. I have made the following card to enter but I was also in the process of making a shadow box and the gorgeous autumn colours I 'found' in my stash have also inspired me to complete the box in the same theme. I will post photo's of the box when its finished but for now, here is my card.

For the main card I used brown card stock and added backing paper from my stash. The flower is actually a sunflower and I cut the layers out in three different colours (used the same card for the leaves and slogan as well).

The flower was lightly sanded and the edges inked (charcoal) to give it a more weathered feel. Liquid pearls (copper) have been added to finish off.

So why not have a go and enter the DT call yourself, I bet most of you have a stash of gorgeous autumn colours in your papers that are perfect for this challenge. Click here for more details.

Oh, and here is a quick sneaky peak at the box in its very early stages. So far I have stuck together all the card to make the box, added paper and stuck the back on. The hardest part now will be to decorate it:

Thank Crunchie it's Friday - Wedding Anniversary Card

Thank goodness it's Friday, what a long and tiring week it's been!!

This is a card made for sumosue (Docrafts) and her husband for their Pearl wedding anniversary. Its my first attempt at split font on the Cameo and it was easy enough to do. However, sticking all the little bits in the right places was a nightmare.....

As its quite a specific split letter I haven't posted the cutting file but if anyone wants it let me know and I will pop it in the freebies section.

White card is Centura pearl
Embossing folder is Tied Together
Black card
Liquid pears
