Glorious Weather, York Races & Wet Wet Wet

What fantastic weather we are having, it's been lovely to finish work and then sit in the garden and catch a few rays.

This is a project that I started several months ago and is for my home which is why its taken so long to complete because it always get left when other things needed doing. I bought the chipboard letters when they were on sale at Hobbycraft for 20p a letter.

We had some left over yellow paint which I used as a base:

Next I applied gold and copper acrylic paints using a piece of kitchen towel to dab the paint randomly all over:

I then applied a thick layer of 3D crackle gloss and once dried, used gilding wax to emphasise the crackling:

I just added a few flowers, butterflies and pearls to finish it off:

I do still need to finish the insides of the letters off so there isn't as much of the yellow paint showing and then this will be ready to go on display.

Well, I am off out with the girlie's all day tomorrow to York Races and then we get to see Wet Wet Wet. I have my posh frock ready and waiting and I am just about to go and do my nails now.

Have a great weekend everyone and don't forget the suntan lotion x

Lost without my Cameo

Waiting for a new blade and mat to be delivered and I feel lost without being able to cut out whatever I want for my cards. Today's card is one put together without any Cameo cuts.

It's a gorjuss girl decoupage image. I had glued the image to the backing paper before deciding it needed something adding to the right hand side so I decided to stamp a white floral image there and it looked horrendous.

In an effort to try and save the card I went over the floral stamp with a silver pen, added little white flowers and black liquid pearls and as a finishing touch I added a little flower to her hair. I actually really like the finished card now so at least it was a mistake with a happy ending.

Thank you for looking and hope you all have a good weekend x

Where is the sunshine?

Got back from our hols last Saturday and I was so cold that I spent the weekend wrapped in my fleece. And while it has been warm all week it has also been overcast and tonight it is chucking it down with rain!

Anyway, we have the Tour de France coming through Yorkshire this weekend so that gives me a lovely excuse to stay indoors which means once the housework is done I get to spend the day crafting..... Hope you all have something great planned this weekend too.

This card has not been made with anyone in particular in mind so I have left the sentiment off for the moment.

I used a House Mouse stamp on Papermill white smooth card. Promarkers to colour (which work beautiful with this card). The backing card is Papermill Maroon card and a piece of card from the Sweet Owl paper pack. I have added Candi and a couple of tiny butterflies to finish:

Thank you for stopping by everyone x
