April is just around the corner and clocks go forward tomorrow x

Can't believe it's nearly April but the good old weather is doing it's best to remind us - it's rainy here in (not so) sunny South Yorkshire.

Don't forget to put your clocks forward in the morning x

This card was made for the challenge over on the House Mouse & friends Challenge Blog. I am entering it for Challenge #190 - Case This Card.

The backing paper is from Blank Canvas paper pad and has been matted and layered. The little mice are from a number of different stamps. I got carried away so probably have enough of the little critters to make another card.

Close ups:

I used Promarkers to colour the mice / circle backgrounds and renaissance gold gilding wax to go round the edges of each cut out. All the shapes have been cut out using my Cameo and the flower is the sunflower from the SIL store.

Thanks for popping by and hope you have a lovely weekend x

Spring clean?

I know it's not quite the right time for spring cleaning but I set myself two goals for last weekend. I decided to fettle my craft room and get it into some kind of order and to finish off some of the half finished projects I have laying around.

I failed.....

I got distracted.....

So I did what every true crafter does when they find things they forgot they had...I played with my 'new' stuff and made a card!

I have just given this to a friend at work, she has a wicked sense of humour so I knew the insert would make her laugh rather than offend:

Here is the 6 x 6 card which I made using the Stampin Up Owl punch:

The papers I bought last year from Crafters Companion and are from the Vintage Floral Collection (pink) and Vintage Christmas Collection (cream). I added a few drops of Perfect Pearls to the top owl and a few silver glitter stickers around the borders.

Now, here is the insert (don't look if easily offended):

Now I am off to go and attempt to finish some projects again. Hope you all have a fab weekend and thanks for popping by x

Had some really great news

I had some really great news this week - I applied to be a member of the Design Team for Crafters Companion and this week I got an email to say I had been successful. I am so excited (with a very healthy dose of nerves included), to be a part of this team and can't wait to get started.

For this weeks project I would like to share with you all something I made for Christmas but I have only just got around to taking photo's today.

This is a glass block which I got from eBay. I paid 99p for five of them but three cracked when we tried to drill holes in them. We drilled a hole in the side large enough so that I could put fairy lights inside. The lights are battery operated and the battery box is secured to the back of the block.

I used frosted vinyl on the front of the block and the image was printed off on black vinyl using my Cameo (image purchased from the Sil Store). I painted the sides of the brick black and added a slim black / silver ribbon. I do plan to add loads more ribbon but I didn't have any wide or long enough at the time. Here is the glass block with the lights off:

And here is the block with the lights on (not the best photo because it's been taken in the daytime - it looks prettier when its darker):

Thank you for looking and I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I am now going to try and get some order in my craft room (something I have been trying to do for over 2 years now)!!
