Glorious Weather, York Races & Wet Wet Wet

What fantastic weather we are having, it's been lovely to finish work and then sit in the garden and catch a few rays.

This is a project that I started several months ago and is for my home which is why its taken so long to complete because it always get left when other things needed doing. I bought the chipboard letters when they were on sale at Hobbycraft for 20p a letter.

We had some left over yellow paint which I used as a base:

Next I applied gold and copper acrylic paints using a piece of kitchen towel to dab the paint randomly all over:

I then applied a thick layer of 3D crackle gloss and once dried, used gilding wax to emphasise the crackling:

I just added a few flowers, butterflies and pearls to finish it off:

I do still need to finish the insides of the letters off so there isn't as much of the yellow paint showing and then this will be ready to go on display.

Well, I am off out with the girlie's all day tomorrow to York Races and then we get to see Wet Wet Wet. I have my posh frock ready and waiting and I am just about to go and do my nails now.

Have a great weekend everyone and don't forget the suntan lotion x
