Off to the Pub and a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace

What a lovely day and I have been stuck in an air conditioned office all day so Adam and I are off to the pub for our tea and maybe a drink or three.

I have some really exciting news which I have been wanting to share for quite a while but only got the confirmation a couple of weeks ago. We have been invited to a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace (well, Adam has and I am his guest). I am so excited and this was the reason I had to go dress shopping last week. Well I am happy to say that I have the dress, shoes, bag and a substantial Fascinator (hope its not too windy on the day) and I promise to blog more about it later.

And so onto crafting. Here is another gorjuss girl card, it's actually one of the last decoupage images I have from the two kits I purchased a while back. I am really pleased with how far the kits have stretched but I don't think I will buy anymore. I much prefer stamping /colouring my own images:

The background is a wallpaper sample I have had for years and could not bring myself to throw it away. The flower is cut out on the Cameo and I added Candi to the centre of the flower and down the edge of the card. I used the beige / cream colour scheme as these are the favourite colours of the person it is being sent to.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend but for now there is a glass of wine with my name on it so see you all later xx

Hi de hi campers....

Just when I thought the sun was finely making an appearance we get two days of rain......lovely weather for ducks and snails!

My hubby has retired (again) from playing football. He played his last game last weekend and manage to fracture (we think) his big toe, fortunately this is a minor injury compared to the last one he had several years ago. I have got so used to having Saturday afternoons to myself its going to take a little time to adjust but he has retired four times before and gone back to playing so it could all change again come next season.

Swiftly moving on... this is a Gorjuss girl card using a decoupage image and backing paper from a gorjuss girl paper pack:

I didn't have much time so kept it really simple adding a few jewels in each corner and a stamped sentiment.

Hope you all have something lovely planned for this weekend. Unfortunately I am off dress shopping for a very special occasion which I will blog about a little nearer the time. This will only be the third dress I have had to buy / wear in the last 18 years (and one of these was my wedding dress). I have to get a hat as well this time (big long sigh  / feeling very sorry for myself) so I am NOT looking forward to it at all.....

Another Bank Holiday

Loving that we get another Bank Holiday so quickly and only three weeks to the next one too.

Here is a gorjuss girl card which I put together for a friends birthday. If you have seen my previous gorjuss girl postings you will recognise the flourish swirl die (stamped using black ink) and added Perfect Pearls randomly. I also used a hand punch for the flowers - since I got the Cameo my poor hand punches have taken a back seat so it was good to dust one of them off again.

I used the cameo to cut out the tag but hand stamped the sentiment.

I also wanted to show you the final finished version of the butterfly card I posted last time. This was alcohol inks on vinyl but I had left it blank. Well the finished version has sparkly gems and a sentiment added. I didn't want to add too much as I wanted the focus to be on the butterflies.

I am looking forward to having some free time to craft this weekend - hope everyone has a good Bank Holiday x
