Had some really great news

I had some really great news this week - I applied to be a member of the Design Team for Crafters Companion and this week I got an email to say I had been successful. I am so excited (with a very healthy dose of nerves included), to be a part of this team and can't wait to get started.

For this weeks project I would like to share with you all something I made for Christmas but I have only just got around to taking photo's today.

This is a glass block which I got from eBay. I paid 99p for five of them but three cracked when we tried to drill holes in them. We drilled a hole in the side large enough so that I could put fairy lights inside. The lights are battery operated and the battery box is secured to the back of the block.

I used frosted vinyl on the front of the block and the image was printed off on black vinyl using my Cameo (image purchased from the Sil Store). I painted the sides of the brick black and added a slim black / silver ribbon. I do plan to add loads more ribbon but I didn't have any wide or long enough at the time. Here is the glass block with the lights off:

And here is the block with the lights on (not the best photo because it's been taken in the daytime - it looks prettier when its darker):

Thank you for looking and I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I am now going to try and get some order in my craft room (something I have been trying to do for over 2 years now)!!
