I have fallen in love........

I have fallen in love.....

With the House Mouse range of stamps! Bought a few sets a while ago and to be honest, when they arrived I was a little daunted about the colouring in part. Anyway, I decided to give them a whirl this week and after a quick google search I found that you only needed one or two colours for the mice.

So here is my first attempt with a stamp from the Sew Mice JSHM042 set:

I used Neenah ultra smooth white card to stamp on (thanks Sue) and Versafine onyx black to stamp with. Now a lot of crafters have reported Memento is the best ink to use with Promarkers but I don't have that at the moment. The Versafine ink pad was ok but I did find it bled slightly when I used the blender pen in the more inked up area's but not so bad that it would stop me from using it again. Anyway, tomorrow I will be off out to buy a Memento pad.

I used Promarkers Raw Sienna and Caramel for the larger mouse and Cool Grey 3 and 4 for the smaller mouse. I used Tan and Soft Peach for the ears, faces, paws and tail.

Yellow chalk was used to soften the white card around the edges and to give the mice something to 'stand' on.

The backing papers are from a Tilly Daydream paper pack which I thought matched really well due to the cross stitching look. I did a quick Cameo cut for the button and added some yarn to finish.

So, I will be going mouse mad this weekend. Hope you all have a good crafty weekend too x

  1. Mornin' Angela, I am so pleased you're happy with the results using neenah...it's awful when 'you' recommend a product and it doesn't work for a crafter. I am loving how you coloured these gorgeous little mice and I have the colours you have used and will certainly copy down the shades. Have a happy crafty weekend.
