Fabulous at 40 - a girly card with a butterfly edge

I made this card for a work colleague who was celebrating her 40th Birthday. I knew I wanted to do a gatefold card using the Die'Sire Edge'ables Butterfly Dreams and the person I was making the card for loves bright / bold colours.

I used Centura Pearl Card for the base and cut two lots of edges on each side and matted the pink paper onto black card to make the colour pop out.

For the inside I decided to use a Scruffy Little Cat stamp (Perry) and coloured her to match the backing papers I had chosen. I softened the white edges of the card with Distress Inks

I added a few gems (my 'go to' embellishment) and used the Die'Sire Contemporary 1" alphabet to cut out the 'Happy 40th.' Here is the card opened out:

My colouring is not the greatest so I have since decided to take some online classes to try and improve but overall I was pleased with how this card turned out.

Thank you for popping by and hope to see you again soon x
