Anyone who knows me well will know that I love horror films so I had lots of fun making this card.
The 'mummy' and the 'hole' in the wall are both digis which were some of the freebies that came with Crafter's Inspiration 11 and I used the Texture embossing folder (Dry Stone Wall) for the background.
The base card is 5" x 7" in black. Take a piece of black card and cut it so it's slightly smaller than the base. Put this into the embossing folder and run through your die cutting machine. With guilding wax very gently rub over the bricks so that you just highlight them. Mount this piece of card onto orange card and stick it to the base.
Print the 'mummy' and the 'hole' from the free CD. Colour both using your Spectrum Noir pens. Taking the 'hole' you will need to cut away the inner part, be careful to leave just enough around the edges so that it remains in one piece. Place this onto a piece of black card (do not stick) and draw around the inner part of the 'hole' using a pencil. Cut out the black card piece just slightly outside / bigger than the pencil marks. Put this piece of black card to one side.
This next part is a little bit fiddly so just take a little time. Position the 'mummy' through the 'hole' and stick down the bits that touch the 'hole' (e.g. leg, arm, head). Carefully turn this over, take the black card you cut early and stick it to the back of the 'mummy / hole.'
Stick this to your base card - I used gel glue just to lift it off the card slightly and give the impression that the 'mummy' has burst through.
Print off a Halloween greeting (plenty on the free CD) and if you have used white paper, colour it orange to match the rest of the card. And that's your card done. Here is a side view:
Well I hope you like the card and if you do I will be posting more spooky Halloween inspiration for you next month.
