First the card. This is a simple 6" x 6" card using cream card stock and the Die'sir Classiques Corner Die (Floral Corner):
You will need a 6" x 12" piece of Cream card which you fold in half to make the base. Take another piece of Cream card measuring 53/4" x 53/4" which will be for the topper. The great thing about the Corner dies is that you get two of the same design which speeds things up. Place each die in a corner and run through your die cutting machine to cut and then to emboss. Move the dies to the other two corners and repeat.
I inked through the die for highlights. Stick this to a 53/4" x 53/4" piece of coloured or patterned paper and then stick this to the base card. I used two strips of the same coloured paper to cross over the top and a circle for the sentiment.
It wouldn't be me if it didn't have a little bit of bling so I added a few extra flowers, some gems and a small butterfly to finish.
That was when I looked at the envelope it would go in and thought absolutely not! So here is the envelope after a quick die cut:
But I didn't stop there because then I looked at the scrap pieces I had left and rather than adding them to a growing pile I headed over to Pinterest to see what I could do with them.
And here it is, a little corner bookmark which I think will make a fabulous matching pressie to go with the card:
Rather a long post for me this time but I hope you like it. I would love to see any envelopes you alter or what you use your scraps of paper for. You can visit me on my Facebook page and leave me a message or a link to your work.
Thanks for popping by x
