Inspiration from the warm colours of Autumn

For these two cards I used the freebies that came with Crafter's Inspiration Magazine 11. There was an embossing folder, stamps and dies based around an Autumn theme but I know I will be using them for all sorts of projects.

This first card was made using the stamps and one of the leaf die's. This was my first attempt at using Distress Inks to create a background and although its not perfect, I am pleased with the results.

The second card was made using the embossing folder, the stamps and another one of the leaf die's. The embossing folder is slim so needed to run it through the machine four times to cover all of the card but what I loved about it is that it didn't leave obvious marks down the edges. (This has happened to me with other brands and does spoil the card).

The background colour was achieved using Aquatints and has a shimmery sheen to it which the camera hasn't picked up. Its actually a piece that I coloured last year and then didn't know what to do with it so saved it. I used Gilding wax just to pick up the embossed areas (this doesn't show on the photo very well either).

I think there may still be some copies of the magazine left so if you have the pennies I would recommend it. The CD has some lovely papers in it which I have used on a few other projects and it also has Halloween images / papers.

Thank you for visiting and hope you have a good weekend x
